It's encouraging to get it to fire after sitting for at least 12 years, but like the Homelite, something is missing. I know just enough to get by, but I have a lot of patience. After that nothing until I wait 15 minutes. I've started with 1" out on both and worked up to 2" out, but the best I get is cold startup, it fires revs up and dies. I was searchin online today had a rough time findin the right parts but i found them and ordered them and was wandering the best. I took the carburetor apart and checked the diaphragm, looked good, the needle seems to move just fine inside the seat. The engine will start only when primed and then it stops. The prime bulb seems very hard to push in to prime. I did find a guy that rebuilt a MAC 3516 and he ran the fuel lines from the tank to the primer bulb to the carb fuel pump and back into the tank, and said that was the proper way for the 3516.Īlso, does anyone know the proper low and high setting for the 3516. hey I have a mac 3516 its my favorate saw runs like a champ but yesterday the new guy that works for me over tightened the dam chain and chewed up my sprocket and striped my chain tighner.
